How am I able to offer sessions for free?
Due to my strategic alliance with MOORE EDUCATIONAL I am able to offer teachers professional development sessions using the LEGO Education equipment.You can use these sessions to learn how LEGO resources can be used to achieve learning outcomes in many areas. These sessions are ideal if you are considering purchasing LEGO. Sessions are obligation free.

Attention all Science and I.C.T. Teachers in schools that are considering / have LEGO Robots
This P.D. will train you in the basics of programming LEGO NXT robots and provide you with a topical environmental project : Smart Move - Transport.
FIRST LEGO LEAGUE competition participation is optional, the project topic itself is vital to our survival!
Body Forward - Engineering Meets Medicine, is the 2010 theme for FIRST LEGO LEAGUE ( see below for competition details). First LEGO LEAGUE is a school students competition that combines research project based around this years theme and a robotics challenge designed for this theme carried out on a purpose designed mat using LEGO robots.
FIRST LEGO LEAGUE aims at providing teachers and students with a short focused topical unit of work that can easily be integrated into the normal school program and incorporates work that would often be covered during the normal school year in other formats. First LEGO League provides a creative way of delivering relevant scientific content and motivating students The research component allows students to exercise their creativity in the way they present their information.
Regardless of whether your school intends participating in FIRST LEGO LEAGUE competition or simply applying robotics in a creative and topical way, this P.D. is for you

Students often undertake activities such as basic circuits and using solar panels without actually understanding what energy is, how it is generated, transmitted, stored and measured and the effects of friction and other forms of resistance.
This session doesn't delve into the complexities of physics but will simply cover some of these basics in the context of renewable energy sources - wind, solar and water power using easy, understandable activities and the LEGO eLab set.
We will explore the types of renewable energies that offer viable alternatives and even consider Hybrid vehicles.

Easy perhaps isn't the word you would associate with robotics, prove to yourself that it can be easy and one of the best tools you have ever used to teach Math's, Science, Thinking Skills , I.T., Art/Craft, Systems technology and even literacy. And best of all you will find it interesting and fun! Come along and have a try at robot wrangling using the latest award winning LEGO MINDSTORMS Education NXT robot. Cutting edge technology places sonar, sound sensors, voice, expressive graphics and more into students hands and roaming around your classroom floor! We'll do some very basic on-brick programming ( no computer required), learn about sensors and outputs and how a robot processes this information, learn to take sensor readings and even move onto some basic programming on a computer. Guaranteed painless! Program an emotional robot and along the way be convinced how robotics delivers ICT, systems technology, math's, science, thinking skills and practical literacy effortlessly.

Move It ! Mechanical Systems & Forces
Participate in a session that will help you teach mechanical systems

This session will take teachers through practical investigations of systems that man has invented to make work easier. "Experience is learning: everything else is information"* - This is the easy fun way for your teachers to truly understand some basic mechanical systems and the underlying physical science principals while working solidly in the Design, Creativity and Technology, Science knowledge and understanding and Science at work domains while also applying math's measurement, space and numbers to simple models that they experiment with to prove the principals. Teachers will use the newest LEGO Education sets to lead teachers through multiple experiments using gears and applying forces.
