Robotics Student Incursion
All equipment, including laptop computers, supplied!
Students actually program robots on a computer
Robot Dance Challenge
Your students will use my pre-built robots as a base for their dancing robots. They will add on an extra motor so that their robots can have a spinning head/nodding head/ wagging tail. They will then program their robots to dance to music. To add to the performance, they will also decorate their robots. Make sure you have the video camera ready
Here's an entry level robotics activity that combines robotics, music and art in a captivating robot programming and decorating experience. The resulting robot dance performance will have students in stitches!
Some schools decide to enter RoboCup Junior after this experience on the dance floor.

Session Details
Suitable For years - 5 - 9
Session Length - Best outcomes are obtained with a 1hr 40min + session due to the number of skills we are employing. Shorter sessions can cover the basics. See the General Information page for your session length options, rates etc.
Student Skills Required - some computer experience and competence with a mouse. No previous robot programming required.
Preparation- Ideally students should have completed the Robotics Background Activities to place robots in context and for the best educational outcome.
Follow this link to the Robotics Background activities that will prepare your class and maximise outcomes
Logistics and Venue Requirements - I bring in quite a lot of equipment so please make a fairly large room available with floor-space for the robots to dance, a GP, art room or hall is ideal . As I supply my own computers there's no need to tie up a computer lab for the sessions/s. When I confirm your session booking I will provide additional information on the logistics of your day or you can down-load a generic copy here :
Additional Requirements
We will require a CD player and copies of the students music on the day.
