ROBOTICS TEACHERS SHARING GROUP
Certificate for your files supplied for each meeting

Who Are We?
The Robotics Teachers Sharing Group is a self-help initiative that has now been running for a number of years. It was launched as a self help initiative by a small group of Robotics teachers with the assistance of Sue Inness from Techxellent Training Solutions,(Formerly from Educational Experience & Modern Teaching Aids)and Robyn Rivett from Mount Waverly Secondary College.
The group is not KLA specific as Robotics has applications in Science, maths, Information Technology and Systems Technology and is seen as a teaching tool rather than a subject in itself. Indeed, robotics is mentioned in Level 4 of the V.E.L.S.
This year we are grateful to Libby Moore at the LEGO Education Centre for offering her workshop area as a venue for our meetings. Hopefully, this central venue and forward planning of dates will grow our group.
Any interested teachers are invited to attend, there is no cost or obligation involved and little formality regarding attendance
In 2010 group aims at having at least one meeting per term. The meetings are generally fairly informal.
The main aims of the group are:
- 1. Share teaching ideas - units of work and different in-school applications of robotics and have the opportunity to discuss these issues with other teachers
- 2. Improve robotics skills – By sharing sources of information, programs, pd and practical programming hints, occasionally encompassing a mini programming session.
- 3. Brainstorming - different robotics physical set-ups and equipment handling, storage and maintenance techniques that work!
- 4. Help each other solve technical problems and answer questions.
- 5. Access to experts : Be briefed on the newest softwares, hardware add-ons, competitions.
