Testimonials from teachers for Techxellent Training Incursions:
Claymation Incursion - Hughesale Primary School (May 2009)
As the ICT specialist for Year 5/6 I wanted to improve my existing program and offer a curriculum which was more engaging and challenging for the students. TeachExcellent Training Solutions came along with a dynamic & enthusiastic facilitator, Sue Inness.
Students had been interested in animation and we had been involved in discussion about ‘Wallace & Gromit’ and other similar movies. The students were interested to find out more about the animation process.
Sue spent two whole days working with 4 grades for a 3hour intensive workshop – and it was action packed and extremely engaging for all students. Our Visual Arts teacher and myself (ICT Specialist) worked together collaboratively to get ‘things’ organised before Sue’s arrival.
Students made scenes, props and malleable puppets for the characters in Visual Arts. In ICT we researched animation, cartoon techniques and had an investigation of the ‘2Animate’program. This in the end got the students in the ‘frame of mind’ about animation. Students created small movies on the ‘You Can Do It’ themes – confidence, getting along, organisation and resilience.
Sue came with all the necessary equipment – lights, camera & action! The end results were brilliant! All students were engaged. Most of all they needed to use their problem solving skills as there were many technical moves required to make sure the animation worked smoothly and recorded by the camera frame by frame!
Sue was excellent in explaining ‘step by step’ what they students needed to do. She was thoroughly organised so that the process was simple for the kids – not losing their work!
A great experience for all – yes we will be doing this again on a 2 year cycle!
Thanks sue

Re Robotics Incursion
Subject - Re: Best Incursion - FLL program
Thanks for another wonderful robotics day with our students. As always the planning and execution were exceptional. I loved seeing the students so highly motivated and engaged from the beginning to the end of the day. They didn't even bat an eyelid about missing half of lunchtime! The students were very pleased at how much they had achieved in one day. Thankyou for creating such a positive working environment where all successes, big or small, are celebrated and the students experience genuine benefits from teaming together and sharing ideas. Looking forward to next year!
